an angel torn part 12

Icais looked at his master confused.

-“Just do as you’re told. Your mission is Lillian.  Peter will be handled by Zael.”  Luke said. He couldn’t contain the smile at the surprised look that was splattered all over Icais’ face.  “All will be known in time” was all he answered to the unmentioned question that ran through the mind of his soon to be right hand.

Suddenly two other demons came into the throne room, got on their knees and were up once pardoned.

-“News from upstairs” said the first demon. He was a normal looking fellow; at least compared to the other demons.  The other one, on the other hand seemed more ‘angel-like’.  If it wasn’t for its red wings it would’ve been confused with one. Luke observed how Icais tried to make sense of what he was seeing until he finally interrupted the demon’s train of thought.

-“She’s of a neutral species.” Luke clarified. Icais glanced at Luke and then back to the one of the ‘neutral species.

-“She’s born of angel and demon alike.” Luke kept explaining. Meanwhile the red-winged entity looked at the ground waiting for Luke to allow him to speak. “They have no real loyalty to either side.  They’re considered celestial demons or infernal angels.  They’re free creatures enslaved to the fact that they don’t belong.” Icais only looked more confused with every word that came of Luke’s mouth.

-“But how is this possible?”  He asked.

-“Have you ever encountered a succubus?” Luke asked him.  Icais smirked and instantly understood.  Then another question ran through his mind, but before he could ask, Luke was already answering.  “Yes, a succubus can love.  It’s rare and it was an irritation at first but then i learned to use it to my advantage.  The process is simple.  Every succubus is made to love only one entity.  Whether it’s human or angel or demon, they’re made to love only one other.  Not all of them find that one other spirit, but when they do, well, the other is most likely to give in.  Red here, and that’s her name for you, was “born” about a century ago.  Does the Big Guy upstairs know about this? Yes! I’m surprised he never mentioned them.  I’m sure you heard the story of the archangel that gave himself in lust. No one knows which on it is and what happened. Well, except the Big Guy and me, of course. He and i made a deal. I keep the indiscretion of his son quiet and he lets me keep the spawn.  The mother died giving birth and i took her as my own.”

Once everything seemed more clear, Luke glanced at Icais and the, once confused, demon understood that he had to leave. As Icais left, Luke signaled Red to begin sharing what news she had from the heavens.  But before she could speak, Luke noticed that something was wrong.  He looked into Red’s eyes and saw what his ‘daughter’ had encountered.  Red was trembling while Luke was filled with a rage that ran right through him.  He put his right hand on the first demon’s chest and instantly, it was imploded.  He transferred his essence into Red and she was instantly recovered.

-“What, the hell, happened?” Luke asked. His tone gave out a hint of fear. “What was the entity that attacked you?”

-“That’s the news that was brought from upstairs.  It’s a new breed; not born but created, like you and the other elders. Up till now all i can say is that they possess an ability to specifically counteract any force caused by my kind. I couldn’t fight him.  He calls himself ‘Uran’ and he seems like a celestial demon but he’s made, not born.”

Red waited in silence until Luke decided to respond. For a few minutes there was complete silence.  “There’s another thing.” Red stated. Luke glared at her, waiting for her to speak.

-“Well tell me what it is?” Luke demanded.

-“The prophecy sir…” Red hesitated for a few seconds, but she didn’t dare to try Luke’s patience. “It hasn’t changed, sir”

Luke’s expression went from anger to an uncontrollable rage. Red disappeared instantly while Luke burned everything in his way.
